Why don't you try it, and see for yourself?

Or does that sound like too much work?

I should think people generally frown upon marketing on such sites.

no matter what, just remember not to spam.

I use myspace to market my companys with just a profile on there which I do promote as far as adding friends who i think would be interested in it etc. I have found it to be a great tool to create leads and more but I do not send out tons of messages and so on or spam on other peoples profiles.

If you are asking if the myspace marketing as far as spamming is still good. No because myspace has put so many things in place now that the time you put in wouldn't be worth what you are going to get out of it.

No, I don't think it is very successful anymore. Several people I know, who have tried it, have had no success with marketing on MySpace.

If you're thinking of just starting to market on MySpace, you're pretty much out of luck. MySpace users are ignoring the ways of marketing used in the past. Although, there are still a few successful people still doing it.

It can still work, yes. But it is not an easy goldmine. You have to be a lot more creative, now.

They have been pretty tough with spam and using them as a free source of advertising.

I use it to build brand awareness and to build up a network of hot babes. Once you have the honey the bears will follow. :p But it is HARD WORK, when you are sticking to high quality adds that fit the strategy.

I have a myspace page and have gotten a few very good members to join my forum. It was alot of work trying to get people to accept as a friend but once I got several friend, it was easy from there. I post bulletins periodically but not so many that they get on everyone's nerves.

Used to make a good chunk of change from myspace, but it got to be too much *work*. I know a few people still making some cash, but only because they already have a massive network of profiles and friends, etc built up so they could just "roll with the punches". No point in starting fresh now.

I have heard large profiles with thousands of friends are expensive to buy.

Is this true and anyone got a rough scale to value a myspace profile? Or is this illegal to mention?

I personally would never buy a MySpace profile.

I use MySpace to promote my website. It works out really well.

Reason why it works out well is because I don't do it in a "spammy way". Nor is my list just random people. It's people who are interested in my niche.
