    CTR depends upon quality of traffic bring quality traffic.

    Blend the rectangular ad into your post instead. Also, get more traffic :)

    if i do that and someone opens up the Archive, then it looks ugly......
    as there are spaced left in between

    quality of traffic means pople should sales
    oriented.

    Mostly those people click on the ads that have
    potential to shop online or who are attracted
    to see the ads and click on them.

    If you compare the CTR of google adsense
    ads on DP with a blog, then you can easily
    observed the difference.

    I m dead sure that those poeple
    who clicks on the google ads in DP
    must results a lot of sales because
    DP has the quality traffic and surely
    DP will have the high amount per click than
    others.

    But the content is what ... everything matters

    Improve the content first then think of making money

    I would have to agree with the poster above you need to have more interesting and well written content and it should bring people to it a lot easier who then will click on the advertisements because if you have "just passing through" type of traffic then your CTR is going to be very low to none at all. Also remember that google counts impressions so if you look at adsense and see 300-400 then that could be from you and only 5-6 unique visitors for that day came through and the odds of them clicking isnt good. So I would just say don't focus on the money at first and if you are going to be real serious about it I would suggest buying a domain name and hosting which all together will cost you $60/year max which is a small price to pay.
