Review of music/entertainment website

Hi thanks in advance for the review of my ad placement I seem to be getting high traffic but the CTR is very very low I know it is somewhat expected with these types of sites sometimes but does anyone have any suggestions help help raise my CTR. Thanks

It looks like you're going with mainly Image only advertisements. I've found, that while they look nice, the ctr on image ads is poor. That one square text block you have down on the right isn't easily noticed. Maybe get that block up higher on the right side, so it's above the page fold, and switch those image ads to text ads...at least one of them. Just my 2 cents. I do like the site. Nice work.

 

Thanks I appreciate the review and glad you liked our website. I did change the one image 250x250 to text link ads and took the bottom links off so it would all be squared up on that side and I think not only does it look better but my CTR has already gone up slightly for the day. I still want any reviews you have on placement because anything I can do to improve my CTR is a huge help.

 

I like that position a lot better for the right side ad. Maybe you could fit a leaderboard ad right below your header image and use the same colors you used in your right side ad. You might get some action from one in that position.

 

Yes I was thinking about that also. I do not want to put too many advertisements on the website since content is king and won't get much return traffic if i flood it with advertising but I think the ads may get noticed more right above the content or maybe right between each story/post since the sidebar isn't going to be looked at much since it is sectioned off from the rest of the website somewhat.
