Is this placement against the Google Rules?

    Hello,

Some weeks ago one site of mine got banned because of the placement.

I will show you, how the placement on my site was looking. My Site is a file-hosting site, here some screenshots of the download page:

    above:
    http://i3.tinypic.com/8bj3k40.jpg

    below:
    http://i12.tinypic.com/87mons9.jpg

The reason why I got banned was that the google ad placement above was looking that the ad is the download button. And because of the download icon next to the ad. (adsense mailed and said that to me). :(

Well, anyway my account is not banned, just the domain

So, I got now some other questions:

I found a site, which I liked the placement. I may take the same placement but I realy don't know if it's now against the google TOS rules like mine was?

Here screenshots of the site (it's a file hoster as well):

    Above:
    http://i29.tinypic.com/13ye0b4.jpg

    Below:
    http://i31.tinypic.com/2jeefls.jpg

This is not my site, cuse it's not my site I didn't post the URL.

Well do you think it's against the rules? If it's against the rules, is the reason the same like on mine (half banner is looking like the download link, or is implemented as content??)

    Thanks for your answers

No I dont think that placement is against G's TOS. Yours was because you had that "download" pic next to adsense ads.

But to be sure you should mail to google and ask them.

I was banned because of the icon and that the visitors thought the ad is the download link, that the ad was looking like the "content", download button etc...

Do you think it's the same on the other site because the placement of that half banner is like mine.

How should I mail google? with that screenshots?

I dont want to mail them the link of that site because if its against the TOS, they will bann that site

What you mean, is they love to ban adsense members that abuse the TOS.

We all know that google no longer allows images next to ads, so I wouldn't even bother.

If you look at it and you think it could be confused as the download link then don't do it.
The first one was a definite TOS violation and I imagine they didn't pay you for the clicks.

The new example s fringe at best. Maybe use a different color BG with the google ad so it isn't misleading.
Who knows maybe you will get a better ctr too!

I had that over 1 year and the bann came very later. I didn't know that it's against the TOS. They could warn me too because I have over 1 year had used this method on my site, so they could say this is against the rules.

My account is not banned, just the domain.

Well, it is your responsibility to know the terms of service. You agreed to them when you signed up.
If not the entire terms of service at least the basic stuff.

    Hello,

I have removed the download icon, look please at screenshot

    http://i31.tinypic.com/al0nt0.jpg

I don't think that the people think the ad is the download link or what do you think?

Would that be against the google TOS, too?

If you get many clicks, does google say "ok the people think it's the download link and they click on it so against TOS"

This doesnt look like a download link, does it?

And If I still get good clicks, will I get banned?

Looks fine to me. According to their TOS it should be ok but you might want to run it past the adsense team.
