BusinessVision Integration

Does anyone here have any experience with software called BusinessVision. It's accounting software which you can program some .NET apps to work with it. There seems to be very little information on the internet about programming for it and their certification course is about $18,000.

Any help or pointers is greatly appreciated.

 

Here is just a short-list of BusinessVision woes (off the top of my head):

* No report capable of calculating sales commissions using the FIFO!

* "Inventory Activity" report does not work under FIFO in V6 (Gone in V7!)

* Sold as ready to run on a VPN – BV does not run on VPN even with full T-1 endpoints! Even using a terminal server with BV is very tenuous, as the program is very unforgiving with regard to dropped sessions (No protection mechanisms - it’s not at all fault tolerant), which results in a myriad of data corruption related problems; some that are, for all intents and purposes, “UN CORRECTABLE!”

* Sales Statistics are only dependable immediately after a file reorganization!

* On order and Committed quantities are only dependable immediately after file reorganization!

* The "Created" and "Last Modified" fields on the Inventory details screen is useless because the "Last Modified" field changes every time someone writes a quote, order or a PO with that part and the "Created" field changes every time we do a file reorganization (each week). Therefore, this data has nothing to do with who actually created the part in inventory and/or last modified it!

* Most of the Sales Analysis reports DO NOT work under FIFO.

I could go on about the problems with BV but I will spare you. In my opinion BusinessVision is extremely poorly written software!
