Yahoo "Free Submit" or Yahoo "Search Submit"

    Does anyone know the difference between these two. The "search submit" charges $49/year. Is this worth it?

    I think I know that... Free Submit is as the name suggests is FREE... like you submit ur site to yahoo and they may or may not include ur site in their index...... Search SUbmit is a paid indexing service... http://searchmarketing.yahoo.com/srchsb/ssb.php it guaratees that your site will be indexed if its according to their terms... and whats more.. Your URLs are refreshed (re-crawled) every 7 business days to ensure that the most up-to-date content is available to search users. No keyword bidding required. Your Web site listings are displayed based on the relevancy of your site content to search terms.

    Also one more thing.. I remember that earlier it worked like this... that they charge for each clicks to our site.. but not based on bids.. but fixed amounts based on categories.. but now i cant see anything like that here http://searchmarketing.yahoo.com/srchsb/ssb_pr.php but I can see the same here http://searchmarketing.yahoo.com/srchsb/ssp_pr.php?o=INVALID&b=0 Annual Review Fee: None

    Anyway... its a stupid service... dont go for that... as there is no guarantee that ur site will be placed on top... it depdends on popularity itself.... so why go for this one?

    You can't unless you are a non-profit.

    Submitting to search is not the same as submitting to the directory.

    search submit is paid directory submission for commercial/business sites. Free submit is for not commercial sites and there is no guaranty that your site will be approved/added.

    I'm also trying to submit my site in yahoo free directory in different countires but it ended in error. It is said that I'm submitting in wrong category but the category I've selected is the appropriate one. That is also my problem on how can I submit my site to yahoo directory.
