Laptop needed for photoshop / web design

Discussion in 'Photoshop' started by Electro-Host, Apr 15, 2008.

    Hello,
I am looking for a reasonable laptop which will be used to create templates / logos / banners etc on photoshop. It should be able to handle photoshop, a Internet Browser and a few word documents all at the same time.

Could anyone suggest a laptop? Price should be around £300 to £400

    Thanks.

for some reason I can't view the first one but the second one will definitely meet your needs.
the system requirements for photoshop CS3 are:
The AMD processor, ram and video card in that Toshiba are all fine.

One thing you might want to consider would be getting an external hard drive because believe it or not 160Gb could go pretty fast, but will be sufficient for a while.

I wouldn't recommend using Photoshop CS3 with 512mb RAM though - you want to look at 2GB of RAM ideally. Something with a pentium dual core or a core2duo processor as well will help it run well.

What DaveyBoy said about the 2gig of RAM...any lower and it takes you too long to finish simple projects. I would look at getting a P4 in your laptop..dual core's in laptops drain too much power, and defeats the purpose of a laptop.

    He doesn't want to spend $1,700+ ;)

Check out newegg.com or tigerdirect. Make sure you find photoshop's requirements first ;)

Does anyone read what other people post?!?!?!?
    Seriously.
I posted the specs for CS3 from the adobe site in my first response.
I looked at the second computer that Electro-Host mentioned. It comes with 2 gigs ram, good processor and video card.
For the love of god please read what others post before making comments.

Oh. and the mac book air has no cd-rom drive so installing software is a real b***

Calm down mate, I wasn't saying anything about your post particularly just wanted to point out that running CS3 with 512mb isn't recommended!
