Im looking for a good CMS for a site that Im building that will simply be a news site.

I like mambo and a few of the other free ones, but does any one have a good CMS suggestion for a news roll type site?

I recommend joomla with feedgator installed. With that utility you can fetch rss syndicated stories from the net and automatically publish the stories as content, including pictures and it can be automated by cron job. Very nice and easy to setup. I'm currently playing with it on www.chancetolearn.com

You can get feedgator at www.phlooid.com or from the joomla extensions site at:

    http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,494/Itemid,35/

Easy to install and sooooooOOoooo usefull. Does exactly what 'mine the web' does, it takes content AND description or intro from the rss feed and then creates an article. You can also get it to name the source if you want and provide a 'read more' link to the original site. Some sites have huge intro texts via the rss feed so you can very quickly get content on your site - automated too via crontab.
