Hey All, If i Digg nearly every unique thread on my Forum, is that Spam for google ? And does google mind that ? or its cool ?
Same with sumbleupon and all. Cause I digg like 3-4 threads on my site which is driving alot of traffic on my site, and i want to continue it, but will that make google crazy ??

Your question should be : "is it spam for digg?" Forget about google, you are spamming digg.

I think not, from my experience with social bookmarking digs, this is no issue at all. Anyways, you can learn about how to get the most out of your diggs here, maybe you will spam less, as you won't need to spam to get great hits.

Digg will ban you for spamming their site. They will close your account. When you try to log in a window will pop up that says account closed.

You can sign up again with a different email address. If they ban you again for the same action. You will not be allowed to sign up again even with a new email address as they will have your IP address tagged. The only way you will be able to get a third account would be from a different IP address.

What is a better way is to not Digg your own post too often. If you Digg a lot of other sites, say 10 sites to your 1, you should be safe, but don't do every single post as it happens, back to back.

Are you pinging your post? If you have Digg added to your ping list then they will be alerted whenever someone post from your blog.

Google will not look at it as a problem but I think digg will and you might get the site and yourself banned from digg.

Digg can do worse than ban your account. They can ban your entire domain.

Don't submit every thread. Not everyone is going to be digg worthy. Save your submissions for only your very best threads and get members who contribute stuff like tutorials and other great content.

I totally agree with you there.

You really don't want to be Digging post that are crap just for the sake of Digging and trying to generate traffic. Only Digg post that have valid content with something worthwhile that others might like to read too. If you keep Digging crap, soon Digg members will just ignore what you have posted and being ignored isn't much different from being banned. LOL

    Hope that helps too.

You send content that has value, its that simple. There is no problem submitting a forum post, as long as it has value. Dont submit a crappy post just to get the PR. If multiple people bury your article as spam, you will NEVER be able to submit from that domain again, it happened to one of my sites, back when I was naive about the working or rules of digg. Many people submit every time they make a new post on their blog or something, which is totally fine as long as your submission has some sort of value, be it educational, entertainment, or anything like that.

If people on Digg feel you're spamming and ONLY submitting your own content, they will bury you and you'll get picked up by Digg and probably banned...

I agree with goscript. You don't need to worry about spamming google...you need to worry about spamming digg. The digg algorithm is quite sophisticated and the digg community is even more so. You walk a dangerous line to digg so much of your own stuff like that.

The same is true with Stumble, but in SU there is a specific tipping point past which you will get yourself blacklisted. There is a post I did about this on my blog, but I am not allowed to put in hyperlinks yet. The URL is:

Yes, it is spam. Digg is intended for interesting stories, not just any story ;)
If you try to submit 100 articles from the same forum they will ban your account.
Not that you can't create another account in 2 mins, but it's annoying.
