I think the top banner useless
add a banner at the top of your post, put adsense between posts
put a link unit under your menu and under blogosphere

your text ads need to look like they are more to do with this site as they dont and stand out really bad. get ride of that top text ad in the posts and make it a banner ad in line with some text after the user has started reading stuff and find the site usful

hope this is some help to you make your ads look less like ads

o if you going to have that text ad at the top ever make it an imege or take it away and use it as a banner ad for in with your posts text

Looks like you're using google analytics. Try going in and looking at the overlay view and see where the majority of your clicks are and try integrate adsense in those areas

I think you can optimize your ads placements, this will help you increase your ads clicks.

I suggest you put a ad unit in the middle bar.

Thanks for all your help so far guys. I've implemented a lot of your changes. My next step is to add my final two link units but I'm unsure where to place them.

Please have a look and let me know your suggestions

OK I'm on the verge of giving up. Even after all my changes I still only managed 1 click yesterday out of 1000+ impressions

Where does your traffic come from?

I find that highly targeted visitors are there for the content (and won't click the ads) while random visits from search engines find the sites, decide it is not what they're looking for and move on (by clicking the ads)

Ok, I checked out Family First and this inspired me to redesign the site even more. Have a look now and let me know what you think.

about half of my traffic comes from search engines. The rest come from reffering sites linked straight to articles

Does anyone know how the familyfirst site gets the expanded categories under his 'ALL' tab in the menu? Looked at his source and can't see a plugin and it doesn't look like part ofthe default revolution theme he has based this site on...

That tower ad on the top-middle is a bit much, try removing it and put the "blogosphere" section there and your posts have too many ads. The large rectangle ad is enough for each. I don't know about the "all" link script but check out this thread for a possible source for an answer: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=897142

You also need to work on that middle column, its really screwing up the design of the rest of the site.
Try reducing it so its a similar length to the rest of the site
    :)

Ok, I've adjusted my site some more. The middle column on the main page has been trimmed down and is more blended with the post exerpts. Individual posts have been really blended with adsense but now I think they may be blended too much?

OK this is still difficult for me. I think I have tweaked my site as best I can. Please review and let me know what you think.

Can't give exact ctr but it's less than 1% on some days still. 60% of my traffic is from search engines and 30% from reffereing sites (not social networks) and 10% direct

I am thinking that my site is too good if you know what I mean. Average page view is 3 per visitor and my bounce rate today is less than 9%

I do not think this is good for adsense....
