I assume he is speaking about his article directory website (http://www.articles2u.com/). Most likely the website doesn't earn much more than a $100 per month.

 

My biggest concern with submitting articles to places like ezine is that they end up competing against my own site in the SERPs. James, have you found that to be the case or does the traffic generated make it a non-issue?

Do you write the articles around long/longer tail keywords or the actual words you are targeting?

 

To avoid your articles competing against your site then post unique articles targeting different keyword phrases....however I don't think their really competing against your site because they will bring you visitors too....

I usually try to target 4 + keyword phrases...this way they typically will rank on first page of Google...then I will link to my articles too...

 

If your submitting to social network sites do you use different content in each post? will duplicate content effect your ranks in google? thanks.

I was testing out socialmarker so curious if duplicate content matters with link backs.

 

If you can use unique content then do it...but if not don't worry sooo much about it..

 

I've done reading your ebook like two days ago, and read it over a few times more.

I think that it is hard to make money with blogs, articles or something like that. You will need to build some kind of automation, programming or something like that to play big.

If I can make the content unique easily then I do it..but if not...then I don't always worry about the links as much as how many visitors I can get from it...think about links and traffic!

You must not be targeting your articles title, content correctly....because I am a biggggg fan of Ezinearticles and they bring me lots of traffic..

 

It might be as you say. There are tons of sites with a few pages that are "life time" earners. But fresh , new content is what keeps your readers alive.
