My site has a really low click thru rate

Only 3 clicks per 500 visits per visit

    My site is www.tvandfilmblog.com

I have the ads down the right and every page is content rich.

    Is that a bad position?

first things first the adsense ads are not blended into the black of that background.

another thing that i have noticed from previous adsense experience is that I have very poor clickthrough for any adsense ads in the long horizontal columns.

One reason for this that i found is that your visitor is reading down the page and looks over the adsense ads as they dont go right the way down the page, what i do is to put the adsense ads in their face usually above the fold to start with which increase ctr immensly then after each blog article if they wanted to find out more information this also improved ctr.

its a case of tracking everything and tweaking to see what works best for you and your site.

    Hi

What do you mean the ads arent blended in? They blend in fine here, black background.

I think I will try them elsewhere, I might get a new theme, not too sure about this one.

    Thnx

There's nothing wrong with the position but your problem is much more than that.

    1. Please do some blending for your ads and their background. Make them blend with your content. I know you want to get the attention of your visitors to your ads but you are doing it wrongly. It is too striking. Please remove that black background.
    2. Please put more ads. Place link units and block ads at the top and bottom of your page.
    3. You have too many Skyscraper ads there. Just put one and use your remaining number of permitted ads on places mentioned in number 2.

Good luck! Buzz me if you need more on this matter. :)

Could you take a screenshot with regards to the blending, I am seeing no problem here, the ad background is black and the ads have a black background so I am not quite following.

Thanks for the help, I will defo try these things, but I would really like some help on the blending thing as I dont see a problem here?

    Thnx

right column is too far from main content - so visitors are not noticing those ads. Better you may place then in your content as blend with the template.

You need more visitors - 500 visitors may just coming to your site without having real interest in your content. Some movies are old - try to post something new.

Okay guys, I will get rid of the right hand ads, or make it just one block.

I have just been reading up and it seems the best CTR is ads that are above the content, like on the 3rd screenshot @ http://www.adsensemasterplan.com/blog/best-adsense-ad-placement-for-highest-ctr/

My question is I have noticed this on sites where the ad shows up above the content but it doesnt show up on the main page, only on the actual sub page, how is this done? If anyone can help me sort this out pls pm me, I will be happy to pay, thnx
