I think your site looks fantastic, and the ads blend. I really don't understand how clicks work; I've been playing with google adsense too. Someday I'll know the secret

Thanks for the compliment but thats what I mean, people want to stay on the site and not navigate off-it. Any tips to get more clicks?

I agree with others that the top banner is useless, I went to your site and I didnt even looked to the top banner

IMO try to put an ad on the competition section. That should increse your clicks

    folow this exemple:

that top banner isn't a google ad, its a banner exchange so i'm not botherd about it. The competition section is old and hardlt gets any traffic

    Have you visited my site?

Ads are inbetween and inline with my content.

I place 1 ad on top, 1 sqaure ad embedded in the content for a wrap around on the left and one add inline with the content.

Not sure what else I can do here...

if you got that many visits and no clicks there really is something wrong, your ads may not be showing or something.

Thats what I thought at first. I'm using the adsense deluxe plugin and sometimes the ads do not show in the first instance, they come back when the page is refreshed. Doesn't happen all the time but enough to probably lose me a few clicks....

Having looked at my site the ads are pretty relevant on each individual post

If your traffic comes mostly from SE then it's really weird that you are not getting clicks at all.

    You're telling me.

I figured a site like mine should have AT LEAST a 5% ctr if not more.

You need more relevant ads to get more clicks.

Inorder to get relevant ads, you could try-
    1. Section Targeting - This method is to place special keywords between the most relevant content on a webpage. Google then, will use this content specificall to deliver more targeted ads.
    2. Competitive URL filtering - to filter out urls from which ads are displaying in your site.
