Yahoo Search Marketing - worst in the industry!

Anyone interested in advertising with Yahoo Search Marketing think twice. Whenever you sign up with a promotional code, it takes 3 business days to be applied to your account, meanwhile if you set your budget spending at $50 per day, then you will be charged $150 to "keep your account active!"

Yahoo is the biggest rip off in the industry. They take 3 extra business days to apply coupon to your account, so that they can charge you for advertising. They recommend that you spend $50 per day, so while you are waiting for your $100 coupon to arrive, they will end up charging you $300... $300, because Yahoo believes that the balance in your account should be equal to that of what you spent in the last three days.

Use AdWords, Facebook or AdCenter instead. Do not use Yahoo Search Marketing!

But you can't sign up adword by paypal?for this reason i have joined yahoo yesterday.is there any PPC programm where you can join by paypal?

 

when you open an account it will be locked to only one market (the one you live in). I tried contacting yahoo search marketing support via the form on their website to remove this limitation (i need to make international campaigns) but no answer after 10 days.

Yahoo became more strict with regards with their algorithm. that's why they can be annoying.

 

Yea, an Affiliate of ours had the same problem with Yahoo as well. Its like a scheme to make you spend more money. Cause everyone knows when you have a product or offer you would like to market, before signing up to yahoo search marketing, you will have already researched and chose the keywords you want, and the offer you are promoting all ready.

Google Adwords however credits your account instantly. I love Google!

I think they have a $50 free credit coupon out. Search on google.com for one.

 

Pls try others and they too might get some nasty restrictions

Just tried it few days ago, it's very easy to join. Just sign up, create ads, add keywords, add billing, add funds, and ads will start running in minutes. They accept paypal.

 

When does YSM update stats? I started a new campaign and after two days it still shows all zeroes in the stats. Editorial status shows approved. And my account balance has started to decrease. What is up with their stats reporting?

I have running an ads with YSM for almost a months now. So far, I am happy with the service, But sometime they take many day to approve my ads.

With the Prepaid Funds, It is oki for me about that. But to be sure that the new starter should aware about daily budget. New Starter should not set a daily budget too high, since they are new and need time to review the account.

A few day ago, I am moving on to Adwrods, I was still confuse with adwords..ehhe..but i will work out something..

 

i think YSM is easy and as a new ppc marketer i am using YSM and will be moved to adword.

 

I'm not that happy with YSM so far, they charge you more than the minimum CPC to get your ads to show up. Even if there are no other ads to show for your keyword search the minimum bid never seems to result in an ad placement.

umm you know you can just Turn the auto re-fill setting OFF.

I think you gotta learn to use the system and stop complaining.

 

This what makes Google so appealing. You can set up your own budget at your own discretion. Just $5 for sign-up. The downside is that Google does not accept Paypal payment.

 

And how do you do that? I don't think that's possible, unless they have hidden that feature somewhere..

 

Go to the Administration Tab.

Click Account Daily Spending Limit link.

Then Select the option:

"I would like to receive the maximum number of clicks each day. I do not want to set an Account Daily Spending Limit."

 

I have no such option.

I even tried to leave it blank and then got this error msg:

That's why Google always will be dominant, they are not trying to constantly rip off their customers with cheap tricks...... Yahoo are such morons

 

I've had much better % conversions with yahoo traffic, adwords is far more competitive and tougher to make a buck

Just choose the Pre Paid option when you signup, you won't have any money situations as you have described.

 

I had using YSM more often than adwords, and it seem that there is not a big problem.

We can change the payment to a manual ( instead of auto charge ), this can prevent unnesscary charge from yahoo.
