I was just going through all the rosters and I am Amazed at the players I know on a personal level. Jerome Simpson and Geathers of the Bengals. Simpson is an amazing athlete as well. He can jump out of a Gym.
Thigpen of the Chiefs. Quinton Teal of the Panthers.

    I still root for Deboys

I always hold out for my favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys this time of the season. However, in years past they have excited me early on in the year and then disappointed me later on. This could be the year for the Dallas Cowboys' to go all the way to the Superbowl, but the 64,000 dollar question is - 'Will Tony Romo be ready to play every week'? Right now I believe he is ready, but with him still dating Jessica Simpson - anything is possible. I still remember well his melt down late in the 2007 season when he took the Cowboys' from riches to rags within a one month period of time.

Jessica Simpson would want me to play harder to impress her. I read that she will not put out unless he wins.

    LOL.

JK JK JK. I respect Brett Favre a lot. He's one of the few that play for the love of the game.

no one (except me) is from my small town :p

    yeah, it's Jessica's fault

why do people even think that? it's quite frankly asinine to think she has any bearing on his play.

wouldn't you think that the offense last year struggled more so due to TO's ankle injury? or how about a 5th corner (Jacque Reeves) being your 2nd&3rd corner most of the year?

what? you think Troy never dated a bunch of hotties while he was playing?

or how about the Giants playoff game, Crayton dropping the one crucial pass that would have been a 1st down and A LOT more or maybe the other time he gave up on a route that would have been a big gainer as well...Jessica's fault?

Build a college or add a football team to your college. On recruiting visits take all the football players to the nude beach. Have the cheerleaders show them around campus. You will get a lot of talent for a small school.

I thought that the Cowboys played great. We lost to the Giants. We could not handle the pass rush an neither could anyone else in the playoffs. Hats off to the Giants.

sounds like a winning formula :D

exactly. he threw for 36 TD's!!! aside from the other worldly Tom Brady and of course Peyton averages that many a year...who else throws for 36? and he broke most completions and yardage records as well...but yeah, I worry about his social life impacting his play

Giants pass rush was lights out, hats off indeed. They peaked at the right time of the year too...almost taking out NE in the finale when they had 'nothing' to play for and then....you know the rest.

I think we should be more concerned with a) health b) will our pro-bowl strong safety actually play like one for once. yeah yeah he had 101 tackles last year or whatever....that's b/c he was out of position or trailing the play 1/2 the time! aside from the Green Bay game (where he actually made a "Roy Williams" hit...he was average at best as a strong safety...and of course deplorable as a pass coverage safety.

I wish him the best though (after bashing him strongly for the past 3 years) , I hope he fires it up this year and "brings the wood" like Parcells used to say about him.

When Roy Williams came into the league, he was nasty. Now, he's going to be a situation starter, I just don't get what wrong with him.

Giants pass rush has taken some serious blows this year. Strahan retired, and Umenyiora blew out his knee.

I'm a bit behind, I did not hear the diagnosis for Osi, so he's obviously done for the year then?

Roy has been through some changes...I figured it was b/c of his break up with Beyonce a few years ago :p

He got saved (which I did not know) which is great but I guess THE ABSOLUTE HATE he used to play with that fueled his game on the field took a back seat. That may or may not have any bearing with his intensity on the field but that's how I view(ed) it.

Regardless, there are many Christian NFL players that perform just fine on the field. I think he just needs to get off his duff! He needs to work on his recognition...you're not going to be able to plow everyone over as you get older.

Here was my biggest knock on him (not necessarily last year). He kept missing easy tackles, taking bad angles (see the RW horse collar rule), etc. So it wasn't that he was just bad in coverage, not making signature hits, but he was missing the fundamental stuff like...of all things tackling!

And the guy can not buy a sack if he was unblocked! He'd somehow manage to find an OT/TE/RB/etc.

    but I digress

Yep, Osi is done for the year :)

If my relationship ended with Beyonce, my play would suffer dramatically too. ;) I remember one time Roy Williams of the Lions said the nastiest player he ever played against was Roy Williams of the Cowboys. He said one time Roy demolished him on a hit, and then gave him the long horns down sign. (Roy Williams of Cowboys played at Oklahoma, and Roy Williams of the Lions played at Texas, arch rivals for anyone who doesn't know the history of the two). I think you really have a point though about him changing his lifestyle.

I pulled this from wikipedia: Williams announced that he will be wearing No. 38 at the start of the 2008 season because that was the number he wore in college and also "8" in the Bible signifies a new beginning. Fellow teammate Greg Ellis when speaking on Sirius NFL Radio said that Williams told him he felt like he didn't fit in head coach Wade Phillips' defensive scheme. Ellis also said that he's bothered by the way Williams has been isolating himself from other Cowboys, and Williams "just doesn't fit what's going on here in Dallas right now."

By the same token there is Demarcus Ware, I think one of the most easy going guys on the team (from what we are shown) and yet he tears it up like a man possessed.

yeah, that Sirius quote did not do him any favors with fans that were already not liking his play....hopefully Dave Campo can get him back on track.

I did not realize that about the "8" just knew it being his college number.

Bottom line: he needs to have a solid year or they part ways with him next year (even though there isn't a clear cut replacement for him). And in actuality his cap hit + the lack of a replacement is the only reason he's still with the team...isolated....weak! Get in the game!!

Remember the great Reggie White? I know he was a big time church goer, and well we know what he did on the field, 2nd all time in sacks.

While talking about safeties I can't help but remember Sean Taylor. I really do miss watching him, he was one my favorite defensive players in the league for awhile, it still hurts me a little to know he won't be playing. Man he could lay some hits, and was just plain ruthless.

Yep, Reggie's faith no question. So in my mind it shouldn't make you go from feared to fearful.

Ronnie Lot! I did not know this...he actually had a finger amputated in the middle of a game so he could keep playing!! IS that just friggin nuts or what?
