Hi. I was wondering, how can I create an image as an icon? I know how to make one in different formats, but not as an icon?

    thanks

Do you mean you need to know how to create/draw/design an icon, or that you don't know how to create an icon file format?

A plug-in for Photoshop converts a PSD to .ico.
The name is Icon Builder please google that and you will find it!

I see. so Photoshop by itself doesn't come with this plug-in already? Because I already have Photoshop installed.

No, for .ico format it requires plugin to be installed.

This particular plugin installation is pretty straightforward - as far as I remember it was copying a single file into the proper folder.

I have a stand alone software program for creating icons. Pm me and we can talk/example roughly $10 per image. This also includes the script so your icon can appear on web browsers and when your site is booked marked.

I create an equally proportionate image using photoshop (ie. 160 x 160). Once your happy with it, change the image size to 16 x 16. Save it as a gif. Manually name it "favicon.ico"

    Enjoy.

Not all the browsers display favicons made this way.
