Best Social Networking Script

Hi Guys,

I want to start 2 social networking sites - one for business and another for dating.

Which script would you recommend?

What about PHP Fox or AbleDating?

Your recommendations, please.

 

AbleDating is best for dating , but its too costly .

It's a best script to start social networking with all necessary modules.

I have used buddyzone and mod it, but for someone who does not know PHP and does not want to do a lot of work to tweak the script, I recommend phpfox. PHPfox is not easy to tweak, but it uses template.

 

you can do a lot of "social networking" stuff with Drupal. it will also allow you to build beyond just social networking (forums, static pages, blogs, etc).. my site is a semi-social networking site built w/Drupal ..

 

Yep Drupal is coming up strong in the social networking arena with its custom mods. I have a Drupal 5 site and it seems a bit resource intensive, but with the caching modules it was nice. I tested phpfox and dzoic handshakes before, and preferred the latter, given it is a nice out of the box solution. With a little php you can even customize it.

 

Drupal is great. For a simple site, blog or social network it's great out of box, and then if you want to make a crazy site like www.NPR.org or www.Nike.com you can with custom coding.

I´ve been using izabi for 2 years, and its kinda cool, you can make with it almost what the new scripts are starting to develop, only problem its, its dead.

If i were to start building a new social network, ill go for social engine, looks kinda the same, and development its being doing really fast.

 

I think phpizabi is a good script for SN sites.
