You can't edit the text in a JPG. You can only cover it up.

it will be possible to do it with photoshop but the more detailed teh background is the more time it will take you but everything is possible if you got enough skills.

if you could post a example it would be easier to tell you how much time it would take or if it would be faster to redo it

HOW did it possibly get into a JPG in the first place. The single, only case where a JPEG image is acceptable is in the case of saving a photograph, the first time.

JPEG is a lossy compression format and there is no possible way you can have a professional quality image as JPG if there is text in it.

For every other type of image besides a photograph, use PNG, and use the 'export for web' from Photoshop or PNGcrush to optimize it.

the GIMP is a free bitmap graphics editor that runs on every operating system you've heard of.

Photoshop is great, I bought it along with the rest of CS3, but there's nothing that Photoshop does that Gimp DOESNT do for me, and I'm a professional designer. It might not be as slick or as easy, but lets see Photoshop run at all on linux, solaris, SkyOS or BSD!
