Myspace... again. But it's working pretty damn well for me!

Hey guys, for those that don't know, I run a website called "The Firefly Project". It's pretty new. I only released it about two weeks ago. I'm slowly adding articles to it, and started a newsletter. I've advertised ONLY through myspace so far. After two weeks I'm averaging at 500 uniques a day. Just wanna reccomend myspace to anyone who is doubting it so far. If you're age group is early 20 something's (like mine) then it's easy to target them there.

 

For us old guys, can you tell us more about how this works?

 

1. You post a bulletin with a generally large myspace account.
2. You wait for people to look at your bulletin through there accounts
3. They click on your link/ad
4. You get traffic

Depending on the people online or in the friends list you can get a lot of traffic

 

What is the general process to create a "generally large myspace account?"

 

Will -- I'm not sure but I've seen people with large myspace accounts selling 'bulletins' on their accounts, i.e., pay me x amount and I'll post a bulletin about your site and even recommend it.

 

There are people who charge to do this. But you can buy automatic train adders like the one found at http://www.thewhorelist.com and you can also buy accounts from places like http://www.aimunderground.net

Thanks for the advice, I'll take a look at that. Myspace marketing seems to be working fairly well for a lot of people.

 

Trains are a BAD idea for the marketer, here's why. 100% UNTARGETED. If you want to be successful in any type of marketing online these days, targeted traffic is the way to go. I reccomend splurging a couple bucks on a program that will send friend invites out for you. The program I am using right now works wonders. It allows me to use the browse function to find a targeted group, then I choose how many to send the invites to, and it goes, bypassing CAPTCHA while it's at it.

As far as how I get the word out, yes, the bulletins. However I don't send stupid "WHORE MY SITE!" bulletins. I send out articles with a link to my site down at the bottom. Most of the guys on my friend list like the information that I send through the bulletin, and will visit the links that I will post at the end.

 

What program are you using?

 

That's the one secret I'm keeping It's easily found on google though, "Friend Adder" search for that and you'll find a ton.

 

FriendBot Suite is very good..

 

The only success I have had advertising using myspace bulletins are when I advertise my myspace resource site(s). Obviously the answer is clear on why, but if I knew the demo of the average myspace user it might be easier to target.

Should work well for my celebrity gossip forum then, maybe I should look more seriously at it.

I totally agree to that

But they will soon put a stop to this. It is ridiculous how people are promoting all kind of junk now. Promoting a site myspace-related site is ok, but sending out bulletins with unrelated junk is absurd.
