Getting on digg front page?

Hey guys,

Do you guys know on what it would take to get on digg's front page? I heard that you needed 10 diggs.

 

Last I heard it was at least 40 Diggs within a given time.

 

Ok, that should be too hard. Especially if you have friends that will digg also.

 

it is around 60-70 diggs and after it makes frontpage if it is good then within mintues it will get up to 150-200.

 

I'm trying to get this digg. I got 3 diggs already. Yoohoo. I have a long way to get to 70.

people are people -so the easiest wat is to make content that people REALLY like and can't help but digg, and that way it doesn't matter how many friends you have, you'll be making all sorts of new ones.

Dont' focus on getting to the front page, if your content sucks there are thousands of rationally thinking humans who will bury you within seconds.

Instead, focus on writing the best content you can and I guarantee you if it's good it will end up on Digg no matter what.

 

Good point innovati. I am going to try to get more involved in digg and get some experience how people do things.

 

Yeah content is the king! You have to research on what people at digg will digg! Also you get like 12 hours to get that amount of diggs or else it won't make it on the front page!

 

From my experience, it's not exactly how MANY diggs you get as it is who is actually digging your articles. When you get diggs from older and more active members, you're more likely to have your article listed on the front page.

 

I heard it was 24 hours to get that many diggs.

 

I've done it myself --- I also find putting hyperlinks in comments on popular items works well too!

 

To get more and more digg search for ppl who are already on digg and add them to your messanger. Try to exchange digg with them via chat . This will help you to increase number of diggs

Does Digg frown upon those that specifically asks others to dig the website?

 

That's a good question. If I had to guess I would say no. Mainly because that's the whole purpose of it. You have friends and you can shout to them.

 

I am a digg user that have some quite stories got the FP.
The algo is kind of complicated but i believe that one of the most important things is "Diggs Per Hour" for a story.
the number of diggs is not the main factor!
by the way.. you can expect 30K to 80K visitors

 

I've got several stories to the frontpage. Infact I even used to offer a digg service when it was allowed at DP. It usually takes 80 to 150 diggs within the first 24 hours of submission top get it to the homepage. No matter how many diggs you get once the initial 24 hours is over, you will not make it to the frontpage.

 

So, if I have a message board with filled with loyal readers, can I ask them to digg the site?

 

What do you mean 10 diggs? If that is right then all of us would be getting there.
