German vs other languages

Saw this on YT and thought it was funny

 

So, what is it about?

 

Are you located in Germany? To me it was funny (as well as to over 1 million people who watched the video above) because the German language has strong punctuation and seems (note I only said "seems") unnecessarily rough, which makes it funny. And, of course, the actor in the video makes it even funnier by exaggerating it. The videos are all over YT with millions of views. Here's another one:

 

This post reminded me of an old joke that came out when the European Union was first formed and there was discussion about what the EU official language would be:

The European Commission has just announced an agreement whereby English will be the official language of the European Union rather than German, which was the other possibility.

As part of the negotiations, the British Government conceded that English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a 5- year phase-in plan that would become known as "Euro-English".

In the first year, "s" will replace the soft "c". Sertainly, this will make the sivil servants jump with joy. The hard "c" will be dropped in favour of "k". This should klear up konfusion, and keyboards kan have one less letter. There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year when the troublesome "ph" will be replaced with "f". This will make words like fotograf 20% shorter.

In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible. Governments will enkourage the removal of double letters which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling. Also, al wil agre that the horibl mes of the silent "e" in the languag is disgrasful and it should go away.

By the 4th yer people wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing "th" with "z" and "w" with "v".

Can't say actually as all languages has their own values..!!

 

There is a tremendous difference between high German versus low German, and even more if you listen to Volksdeutsche which one hears when in Danzig. The difference is akin to Parisian French versus Quebec French. They are the same languages but one wouldn't know it when listening to them.
How about English? Compare Aussie slang to the queens English. Don't even get me started on Castellian Spanish verses Latin American Spanish.

I dont know what the best language is, but I know its not english:

LOL @malky66 I loved that quote. All you need to know about English is illustrated with the pronunciation of these seven words words:

Cough, bough, rough, trough, though, through, and hiccough.

 

Just believe there are more than 100 million speakers of German language in Europe. I don't believe that is harder to learn German language , its all about passion . All new languages are easy and difficult to learn. The accent used in that video is hard accent and the video creator uses words that are not necessary used frequently.
