#1 in Yahoo & MSN or #1 In Google?

Discussion in 'General Chat' started by token20, May 20, 2005.

If you could be #1 in all the search engines other then Google (except for the ones that use Google results like Netscape) or #1 in Google for your ideal keyword, which would you choose?

I personally would choose all the others, but I know many will disagree.

Its my understanding that #1 in Google is usually good for 2-3 times as much traffic as #1 on Yahoo AND Google combined.

heh - fryman has a good point.

I have a couple of sites with #5,6,7 in Google - and #1 spots in MSN and Yahoo - Google is still the predomenant traffic pusher

Definitely right now. But depending on how long the choice is for. In 2 years it may be a whole different story.

I really find that hard to believe... how many years have Coke and Pepsi been around? Do you think some day Pepsi will be more popular than Coke?

As Macaulay Culkin would say... "I don't think so" :D

Google, the place I work has quite a few #1 google positions and COUNTLESS #1 in yahoo and msn and Big G! pushes our company.

I would rather have a number 1-5 in Google, in a not so strong competition, that to be first on Yahoo , MSN and all the other search engines in the world.

I am first in Yahoo and MSN for a 300 mil result search term, second for a 40 mil. still in YAhoo and MSN. In google i'm on 80th page :)

SO ... this is my opinion.
