Yes, the idea is to get the visitors to click the ads, not to give them information. Also try to make your links blue. Please post back and tell the results.

I think that is the answer - all your adsense adds are advertising proxy services - but that is what your site does isnt it.

I wouldnt click them as I have already found what they are advertising.

What you are saying is not true for first time visitors. They will be looking for something saying proxy. And putting unrelated ads on a page has never been a success, thats common knowledge.

when someone uses a proxy, i think they want it very simple because they want to get whatever they are doing fast and they dont look at ads etc, placing the ads above or below the browse/url thing would get you more clicks because users can click by mistake, that is bad for the advertiser but you get the $ as the publisher and earn from your site.

Hi all, thanks for your posts, they are all valid. Regarding the relevant ads to display, I think I need to maybe display proxy ads on the main index page of proxy dragon, but display relevant ads to the site they are browsing in the browsing header when a user is surfing.

Problem is, how do I do that?

This is what I have found playing with keywords/content etc. I would create a new basic page not relevant to proxies with keyword and content for example "Real Estate", place the adsense javascript at the bottom. When I opened the page for the first time it would display relevant ads for Real Estate. If I then changed the keywords/content to say "MySpace" it would not change the adsense ads it was serving to be relevant to MySpace, it kept serving Real Estate ads. Its seems as though once it has decided that pages relevance, it stays like that and can't be changed. Maybe thats an adsense algorithm to help serve ads quicker.

I have very minimal traffic to my little proxy site and still get a decent ctr. Im not sure if this is the best way to do it, but i have 3x 728x90 ads, 1 above the search bar and 2 below. all 3 are blended with the background and have no border. try taking the borders off of yours, it might help a bit

Anyone who knows what a "proxy" is already knows what an "Adsense ad" is. You can try to trick them all you want, but they ain't clickin'. Get a real site with real content and you'll make real money.

So what you are saying is that changing the placement of the ads will not improve CTR ? In my experience that is simply not correct.

Regarding getting targetted ads. Make shure your meta tags are corrrect as well as all the page content and it will eventually change. I once had a page that took 7 days to change the ads.
