3 ads vs 1 ad

Assuming that G engineers haven't gone completely awol with their smart pricing, can't we assume that most of the time the best paying ads are near the top?

If we agree on that, is it beneficial to have 1 ad showing 4 high paying ads, or 3 ads showing 12 ads?

Does google decide which ad banner/square shows the highest paying ad? is it dependent on which one loads first? Does it decide by which is higher on the page?

I have a very high ctr, so I don't want to lose money by showing low paying ads everywhere.

What do you think about 3 vs 1 in my case?

    Hi.

Really the only way you are going to find out is by making the change on your site. Once you figure it out... please let us know your results.

Trial and error is the only way to tell. I use to put 3 ads then switched to 1 and was very happy but thats just me.

    Anyone else have some ideas/experience?

City2, was the ctr lower or the amount per click?
