3 GG AdSense blocks but mostly just one gets filled...

    Hi,

    on the website I'm setting up recently I try to have three skyscraper text banners (AdSense, 120x600). These banners are positioned one next to the other. Now, GG is already serving relevant ads for the content. But even for very good keywords just one banner gets filled most of the times. Also reloading the page after a couple of minutes / hours does have no effect.

    Does anyone have any indication for me, why this might happen?

    I don't think it is because GG could not find the right keywords, because all displayed ads are really relevant for the page content.

    Any ideas?

    3 Skyscrapers side-by-side? I can tell now it's already ugly no matter how good you are with blending. That's 360x600 of garbage.

    Geee... This is just for testing purposes... Same happens, if I place the boxes one top, one middle and one bottom. I agree with the momentary ugly design, but I really hate to scroll to see my results... ;)

    Does anyone have a clue for the content/adblock ratio?

    Hi Emrys,

    I don't think the amount of content you have will affect how many AdSense ads are served one way or another - if you're receiving on-topic ads in the one skyscraper that is being served, then you have enough content for AdSense to determine your website's topic. I would guess that AdSense only has "one skyscraper's worth" of ads to serve that are targeted to your content, which leads me to believe that it's probably pretty "niche". You may want to look at adding keywords that are related to your topic, and that are also related to more popular topics, in order to have more ads appear on your pages.

    Well that's not exactly true. If he has a lot of content, Google can fill one ad block with a group of keywords, then the other block with another group of keywords, and still the third block with yet another group of keywords. More content equals more chances of different keywords being "sensed" and more ads being served. There is a correlation.
