How Did You Choose Your User Name?

    Hi All:

I often wonder why most of you chose your user name and would like some feedback on this. "Ms. T." was given to me by my clients at my last workplace - before I became self employed and happily working out of my home. :D

I counseled female inmates in a work release center in South Florida. Most of them were substance abusers or sellers and many were victims of domestic violence. All of them had "street names" (nicknames) and if they liked the staff person, they gave them a street name.

I liked the job and my clients but disliked the administrators. Most of them were really jerks which is the case in most substance abuse/mental health facilities.

    What's your story?

    Cordially,

This should be an interesting thread.

I chose my name based on my design sites name, Kalina Web Designs. Kalina is Hawaiian for Colleen, which is my first name.

My story is not that interesting, lol. :)

Digital Point Solutions is my company name. It was Data Point Solutions originally though, and that original name was picked because I was doodling and designed the company logo (see my avatar) on accident. So I thought, "Hey, that would be a cool logo for a company... it looks like a D, a P and maybe an S if you turn it sideways. What company name could I come up with that used those letters?"

Was doing a test to see how much the username on a strong forum site like DP could influence SERPs for that search term.

At the time I didn't expect to stay around DP ... thought I was just creating a throw-away account ... who knew DP would become my most frequented SEO forum!?!

Oh well, so now people think I am realtor ... could have been worse ... could have been running a test for an adult site :p

Really? I don't see it in the CP ... you mean I can PM you and you'll take care of it on the backend? If so, that would be great ... let me know if I'm just missing it in the CP... Thanks.

    mine's not really that interesting.
I suppose it occured out of conversation, let's just say ive always prided myself on my attitudes, and the commonsense way that i usually conduct myself.
A friend of mine once commented (when in drunken stimulating conversation of course) that my way of thinking was somewhat unusual or contradictory to my appearance, ( im a little rough around the edges ).
He said that it was very rare to find someone so straightforward that always thought in more of a black and white perspective, and that also had the appearance of more of a social misfit.
    It was somewhat irregular.....

Another friend piped up and said 'Deregular is more like it.'

    And so it stuck...

Its not a nickname, just something that happened to jump into mind when i had to fill out that username form field. And ive used it ever since.

Damnit- I knew this thread was coming someday... I picked mine because I already had the Keyword Tracker account with the same name on the account - didn't want to confuse myself- but i might undergo a name change.

Mine comes from my name - when I got married for the third time after umpteen attempts at relationships in between each and failing miserably I took up the maiden name of my wife as part of my name so went from Johnson to Fox-Johnson. We [my wife also had been married three times] have now been together very happily years longer than any of our other relationships. She is quite simply the love of my life and I am very proud of her.

When I started on the web I took up the name FoxyWeb but then found that other people had hijacked the name so I changed to the name [after thinking about z+2 for a bit] that everybody was calling me, Foxy. :)
