    I'd say that what happens to 90% of the population would be classed as normal. Doesn't make it right though.

    You would have to consider though that the issues relating to famine, employment, education, equal rights, economic and political stability might be more worthy of UN attention.

    Solve problems in those areas and you may find other problems come right on their own - or atleast by internal pressure, not the UN standing on the moral high ground.

    Is there any value to the prime directive?

    Are we so advanced that our values are automatically correct?

    While I agree it's abhorrent, these things are not as obvious as they look at first glance.

    To a devout Christian or other religions abortion is like killing. To the typical American it's a woman's right. We used to be cool in America with slavery just a few decades ago. Now we know it isn't right.

    Who judges these things? The country with the most money? With the biggest army? The greatest "morals"?

    Sad to hear that most women in Ehtiopia are beaten, but even in our civilization women are beaten sad but true but they don't accept it most of them. Hard to put change in an ancient civilization since women have been beaten since the stone age,ice age, etc. In any case of course I think it should never have happened from the beginning
