A market for an anti-CAPTCHA algorithm

    Hi,

A friend of mine from faculty of Applied Mathematics is working on diploma on image recognition. As for examples, he uses different CPATCHA images and defeats many of them.

I wonder if there is a market for a programming library that has a functionality of reading words on CAPTCHA images?

    Who can be interested?

Well, that's evident. I should say "except spammers", of course!

I heared something about automatic investigation of pay-per-click keyword prices through Overture. They use CAPTCHA there, so no automation is possible.

    Any information on that?

Look if you have an effective captcha bypass and Iv seen a few programs that can actually do that. You can get into many markets.

Spamming being a major one in many areas. Also you got your adult industry gallery submitions, there is coutless other smaller problems that are limited because of captcha you can solve if this actually works.

Well, but they do not publish their code.

Look guys, all the algorithms are written in Mathematica (special system for mathematicians). As it appeared my buddy wouldn't give the code away since it contains many now-how and has certain scientific value.

But. Mathematica allows to connect to it from C++ or Java. That means, it is possible to provide a kind of web-based service. You submit a picture, the algorithm works on server and sends you a result.

So, how do you think? How much can such a service cost? For example, $0.001 per image or someting.
