    It depends on factors.
I would have to have spoken to her to know she is that dumb, so in theory I would have spoken to her before making a judgment.

However I am often shy so usally chicks talk to me. :D

So the deal so far is this, Shawn is the only member here who has not proven himself to be a dog.

Ms. T, is this just a test to see which of us men are "dumber than a box of rocks"

    Anthony:

What I am actually doing is gathering some material for a future dating/relationship article. My prior articles were based on interaction I had with clients in my brick and mortar dating service in Florida. Many of those people had no idea how they really appeared to others. Men who looked like Danny DeVito would look in the mirror and see Arnold Schwarzenegger looking back at them. A number of them came into my office with wish lists of their perfect person. I finally wound up telling them that only God creates, we locate. A very enlightening experience!

Statistically, those who look for a short-term relationship/one-nighter will tend to pick partners who are not too bright. This is true for both sides.

So, what matters isn't really how smart she (or he, for that matter) is, but rather how long one would want to hang around :)

Dumb but sweet and kind? Sure.

Being smart is not all there is in life, IMHO (Of course, my NC grammar proves this point ;-) ).

Some people just seem dumb at first. A lot of girls actually play the dumb card for whatever reason. You never really know until you get to know her. So why not?

I love a girl with a great set of brains.

I once went out on a date with the best looking girl of my university... everything was perfect until she opened her mouth...

I just can't stand people that can't follow you in a serious conversation

hehe ... but I need to add something: heart and intentions are more important than brains. If you have fun with someone that is all that should matter. How you make each others feel. I have messed up lots of good things in my life but realize that being an arrogant asshole will get you what you deserve, a smart, cold, calculating, canniving golddigger (my uncle's wife)

Over the long haul, what matters is compatibility! We are talking about attitudes, values and lifestyle! Great sex and having fun together is fine but life is made up of a lot more than that. That is the frosting on the cake.
If one partner is a spendthrift and the other is frugal, huge disagreements will occur. That is a core belief that will not change. If one person drinks a lot (or does drugs) and the other one doesn't, big problems. And those are only a very, very few issues.

Mutual respect is also important. If your wife is a dim bulb and you are intelligent, who do you have meaningful conversations with? I'm writing an article about Why So Many Marriages Fail and will post a link here when I'm finished. That is not the article I'm gathering information for here, BTW.

here is why most marriages fail: people are afraid of being alone and hook up too quickly hoping "this is THE one" instead of evaluating the situation realistically.

I'm having a Dr. Phil moment now ;)

I've watched two of my friends get divorced. I could see problems brewing, but you just don't get married unless you're willing to ... nevermind. Armadillos are on tv now. Much more interesting and less mentally draining :)

Very true, addiction can make a relationship fail.

Also I agree with the playing "the dumb card theory"
You can't judge a book by it's cover. Just because she is hot doesn't mean she's stupid. My girlfreind is very hot, but she is also very intelligent. In a bar room people smile at you once; and if fate sees it, you get a conversation. If the girl is lacking intelligence, or if I lack interest I'd keep up with conversation to entertain myself and to not be rude. Also I would smile when I pass her, yet walk quickly...

Now that I think about it, this happened recently at my gym. The girl was very cute and she was dumb as a brick. I stay polite, but keep my distance because she doesn't quit talking. It was flattering and cute that such a pretty girl had interest in me, I'd have to admit that. However cute, smart, pretty, or whatever I'm already of the market.
