    Ok,

So am not exactly a newbie.. but ... prolly an amateur...

And.. i've been designing web 2.0 logos for some time now.
However, i've got a problem, would appreciate if someone helped.

When i follow tutorials, everything turns out to be brilliant.. however, when i go about doing things on my own, nothing works!

    Neway.. here's the situation..
I am trying to create a reflection effect for a text/logo... so... when i apply the gradient to the reflection.. to cut/erase part of it.. this is what i end up with!

What i am trying to achieve.... is similar to this

    Help appreciated !!

I think you need to select first the layer of the reflection text when you apply the gradient.
