That's a rather broad question that you're asking. Like, extremely broad. What's your website?

Post articles on other sites that have links to your sites. That can help you build SEO. Promote your site on forums also.

You need to spread your link via Forums/Chats/Websites, usually takes an initial investment to start making profits.

I have to say that optimizing an e-commerce is a bit hard as compared to optimizing a regular site. What I have observe in e-commerce site is that it has a loads of images and as we all know spiders don't know how to crawl images. So you need to come up with a special SEO strategy and double your time in promoting in order for your e-commerce site to rank well in SERP.

Yes, you can say it’s bit harder rather then a regular HTML... etc. websites. But if you will follow right SEO techniques, then you will achieve rank well.

If you want to optimize your website, SEO is the direct way but it is not just simple to put your articles on other websites that have links to your website. Anti-link station is also very important. SEO is just a support and improving users experience is the core.:)

The primary idea about eCommerce promotion is to:

    * Bring visitors to your website
    * Entice them to become your customer

So, since the actual requirement or need is asking them to put time, energy and effort to reach the store, these visitors are more likely to make 'some' purchase.

On the other hand, a visitor to your eCommerce website might have reached with much less effort, may be a single click even if they can leave with a single click. This still ensures that the investment in terms of efforts for the visitor to reach your site is very less. Therefore you shouldn't pull away these visitors by lack of support because this leads them to have less motivation to make a purchase at your site which equals to your less earnings.
