I currently have an 'about us' page on my site that is in serious need of updating. It is just plain boring. :p

Anyway, can I have some feedback on my page and some ideas of other things I could include on it? What do you like to see on this type of page?

I personally look for 'about us' pages on sites since I like finding out more about the people behind the scenes. It gives it a more personal nature.

Any thoughts on what I can include to make my 'about' page more personal or provide more information to visitors.

Just brainstorming and looking for ideas. thanks!

    Good stuff for about pages:
    -Pictures
    -Trivia/fun facts about the site
    -Origin of site name/idea
-Anecdotes about early days with the site
-Mention of any press coverage for site
-Some insight into how the site is run
-Some way to make the user feel like and 'insider' like they have some special knowledge about the site.
-Keep it simple, down-to-home and personal. Don't make it flashy/slick
-Add some *live* stats- Users/Bandwidth/etc something relevant.

Just some ideas off the top of my head.

You should just keep in mind that the About Us page is mostly the human face you'll have for your website. Then try to think of ways to exemplify what you want to portray your website as.

    G'luck!
