Hey guys, I read on a website a few days ago that placing a square ad, I think it was 335x250 or something like that above the actual title gave the highest ctr and claimed that it increased his ctr by 500%, what are your guys thoughts on this? Currently I'm searching for ways to increase my dismal ctr of .20% on my website at http://halo2and34u.com/Assassins_Creed_2_Assassin_Tomb_Locations.aspx thanks for everyone help!

There is no way to tell unless you experiment with different ad formats and colors. 336x280 works well for most sites, and you want to place it above the fold. The niche plays a big role, and the gaming one is not known for a very high CTR.

Ads placement is very important but it also depends of what kind of site your have and how much traffic you got everyday. Some ads may work in your site but others may not. It's still the best if you conduct an experiment for an ads placement on your site.

In my opinion, If i saw a adsense ad above everything on the website i would leave stright away. Not 100% sure way, Mabye because it makes websites look trashy.
