Add a link unit and also place some rectangular ads in between your search results. It will work out for you.

    Add a link unit? Where?

I was thinking about putting the skinny ads between the results; What are those type of ads called by google? :p

I've got an ad above where it says: "Search results - "$query" "
Ads are only displayed when &ads=1 is added to the address though, for testing purposes :)

Thanks for your help born2win, I appreciate it :)

the site needs to be more developed before you place ads on it. It looks like a basic site with no styling and a hunk of ads sitting on top. Style the page, and integrate teh ads into the body of the page instead of pasting a huge leaderboard up top in front of everyone's eyes. that technique makes a site look spammy.
