Ad relevancy problems on Blogs

I have a little experience on bloging with adsense and i gues you also have noticed that there is a big problem with the adsense ads that have a tendency to be mostly Blog related (Blog counters and stuff like that), ads that get few clicks and that have very low return (0,01$-0,02$).

Even blogs with lots and lots of text still show these ads that are not focused to the audience and lover the adsense revenues.

I figure that this is happening because of the template that incorporates keywords.

Maybee metatags would be a way to loose the blog related ads.

What do you think? anyone had this problem? Experimented with Meta Tags on blogger.com? Any succesfull bloggers (+ adsense)?

Please share your experience with us.

Chances are the problem isn't your lack of/dearth of meta tags, but rather the newness of your blog. How long has it been up, and is it on its own domain? If so, then it'll take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks for Google to spider your blog often enough to send relevant ads. Once it recognizes what kind of blog you have, and puts you in a category, it'll send you ads from that category in-between spidering sessions. Once it does crawl your site daily, it'll start sending up-to-the-post ads.

i`m not refering to my own blog, i am refering to blogs in general, especialy the ones that are .blogspot.com and do not have theyr own domain name.

about the meta tags: i think it could be a way to improve the relevacy.

I`m looking right now at a blog that is 4 months old, it has loads of text, it is updated more than daily and it still has ads like:

Free Blog, Video Blog, Great Site, Create Site, Start your own blog, even thouh it has nothing to do with it`s content. only 2 ads on the site are realy relevant to the content.

and this is not the first and i`m sure not the last blog with this kind of problems with adsense.

Just takes time to get the info indexed. I have noticed that a google sitemap ping seems to bring the bot in quicker. Good luck

Not really. Most SE (Google included) don't even bother with meta tags anymore.

Adsense take that into account trust me on that.

I have flash pages that have absolutley no text on them but the ads are still relevant because of the meta Description and ketwords tags.

about google as a SE and meta tags.... i don`t know (though some of the flash pages i mentioned above have that description from meta apearing as a result from a search)

    Same with mine...

Try using the content filters for Adsense and see if that helps.
