Ads not relevant?

    Hey,

I have a Wordpress blog about the upcoming game Call of Duty World at War. If you go directly to a page, for example http://www.cod5.us/?page_id=148, the ads are relevant (Either a Call of Duty World at War ad or another game ad). However, if you go to CoD5.us you get ads about 'Green Tea' , 'Green Lasers' and 'Shop at Webspiders'. This really annoys me. The website has meta tags that are all related to Call of Duty, but I still get those crap ads.

Anyone knows what I can do to fix this?

Stop using adsense? Use a gaming affiliate program, like an Amazon Associate link?

go into your adsense admin panel, and manually remove those links from showing up in your adsense ads

Hmm nah, I really like Adsense and I don't think blocking ads will solve the problem. I think my problem is that Adsense thinks that my keywords are 'Green' (I get 'Green Tea' and 'Green Lasers') and 'Self Defense' or something like that.

Anyone here knows what might be the problem? I pretty sure it's wordpress related.

google crawls your content and then places ads relevant to the most text within your content, wordpress isnt going to interfere with the protocol google ads is running, you can either change your content, or go in and manually block the ad links, or dont do it, either way i dont care :)

    Hello,

You could try and put post titles in h2 tags and then use a H1 tag with the website title "unofficial COD site" etc right at the top of the page, and maybe at the bottom. You can use CSS to make it small enough so it doesn't bother the visitor but big enough so it can be read easy (that way it will not be seen as hidden text).

That should help the adsense spider to figure out what your website is about. I can't guarantee this works, but it's worth a shot. Also, you should leave it like that for about 1 week i think, to make sure that the changes were seen by the spider.

    Hope this helps
