Adsense Background..almost border, is it okay?

    Is this placement ok?

I added a background (somewhat like a border.. but not really). I was just wondering if it was too close to going against the TOS.

    Thanks:)

It's borderline I'd say. You should probably ask them (may violate the new image-rule?)

But if they say ok, excellent job :)

It is ok. Only an image that obviously mislead a visitor is against ToS...
    Not the case here...

I bet they will say it violates. Just this morning I was revisiting G policies and it states: "May not direct user attention to the ads via arrows or other graphical gimmicks"

I am very certain they will not like your gimmick! But ask and confirm and I would loved to be proved wrong on this one!

My 2c, points unwanted attention towards the ad, which I think is against their TOS, but cant hurt asking. If allowed, GREAT job.

Thank you for your response everyone :)

It is borderline.. I think.. hmm..

I am going to contact google about it (and will let you guys know) because.. I don't remember reading anything about manipulating the size of the ads (by adding on, not by changing the code)

I think it will be okay, depending on the rest of the page. But let us know.

As for the above, I have had approval for my Wolfmother placement, which is technically a large ad next to adsense. So I don't think you even need to go as far as that.

Did you used any CSS tricks to change the background of your adsense ads? If so, you are not allowed. if not, you can ask Goolge.

I didn't use CSS tricks. I didn't motify the script they gave me at all. It's simply placed in a table with that background.

As for the rest of the site, all of the ads are in blocks;)

Anyways, I contacted google and am awaiting a response.

Ok. I got a response from google and they said all of my ads on my site are 100% OK.

http://www.mojopixels.com (if you want to see my other ad placement)

*yay* I hope this helps my CTR...

You've really implemented your ads well! Can I just ask a quick question though: In the bottom right corner you've got a block with an image next to it. Am I to assume that having an image placed that close is OK by TOS? I thought that images couldn't be next to ads - or am I reading into wrongly?? Thanks for clarifying my thoughts in advance :)

That kind of placement is okay - Google approved my Wolfmother site (in sig) placement, and didn't say anything when reviewing www.beekeep.com (recently sold).

Of course, their policies aren't always consistent, so ...
