AdSense Decline

AdSense CPM hit a peak in teh third week of last month and has been on a slight, but steady and noticalble decline, since then. Almost every month since I started serving AdSense, almost 18 months now, each month has been better than the month before. It might only be a few cents better, but always better.

So far in May, my CPM is running almost 8 percent off my April numbers with roughly the same CTR. Slight, as I said, but the first time I've ever seen this.

Anyone else noticing lower numbers this month? Is it too early to tell?

Well, for me this month is still better than the last one - though it's just a really really little bit.

Of course the eCPM jump from march to april was bigger, than the eCPM jump from april to may is now.

But I think the fact, that I heavily gain more visitors month by month are increasing my ecpm, too.

Yes, my profits are up and so is my CTR. So far May has been my best month ever as far as the bottom line dollar figure, but if I estimate an average per click amount, I am down quite a bit from last month.

google has been tossing out pages liek crazy this past month .. check to see if you have lots of "similar pages" in your site:

my adsense is going down too ... and i KNOW that's my reason, but every site is different.

My CTR is steady, my average daily Page Views are up (by about 10%), so I'm actually getting MORE daily clicks on average this month than last, and as a results I'm making more money per day (average), but my average daily CPM is lower (by about 8%).

I see these threads every week. The CPM always fluctuates. That how adsense works. The are many factors such as advertisers opting out, smart pricing, etc. Nothing to worry about.

We all have good and bad days. Its just a part of being an adsense publisher. We all can't have 'good days' every day of the week.

Agreed. Sometimg your earnings go up; other times they go down.

I always do good at the end of quarters months... like march, june, sept, and dec. I think advertisers shoot there quarterly advertising budgets with adsense.

I usually notice a huge decrease april 1st, oct 1st ect.

its such a volitle market =) Fun though.
