I've just started experimenting with adsense for search.

So far i only allow my domain to be searched when setting it up, and i've replaced almost all the search boxes on my site with adsense for search. Is this legal?

Are there any other recommended setups

If I remember correctly you are allowed to keep 2 search boxes per page.

sorry to ride on the coatrails, but for Adsense search - do you get paid for every search done or only when they click the ads on the search results page, it's always been something I wanted to find out?

I think they pay only when they click links in results.

To be more precise, only on sponsored links in the result.

It must be only when they click a sponsored link.

So far 10 searches today and 0 clicks.

Does this search method generally create more or better earnings?

You only get paid when someone clicks a sponsored link in the search results. I get about 15 searches a month and anywhere from 2 to 5 turn into a few cents here and there. I've found most of the searches I get come from my 404 error page. Might see about trying to implement it there.
