AdSense help

    Hi,

I'm new to AdSense and I'm trying to get some $$ out of my proxy site, which shouldn't be that hard. The previous owner made $2-$3/day with about the same placement as mine, but the site has been down for a couple of weeks now, just got it up a few days ago.

But the site does not seem to produce any clicks. I have had 142 unique visitors today, and the time is 2 PM here in Sweden, but only one click on the ads.

When I visit the site myself I see only two ads that are not at all related to the content.

I would appreciate some help with this, you can check out the site and the code at www.qroxy.com.

    Thanks.

It could be that no one has actually clicked. Also, are yous hare the last owner did actually make that amount. Did he provide any proof?

    Yes, he provided proof.
EDIT: Even if the proof was false, a proxy site with over 200 uniques per day should be able to produce some $$.

What ads do you see on the site, are they realted to proxies and stuff? All I see are two Ebay franchise ads on the left side.

Just surfed to my site using another web proxy, and it showed relevant ads now. Added google_page_url, so that is not a problem any longer.

Anyone got any tips on how to maximise revenue?

I am already working on a new design. :)

Yes, as I posted above I am working on a new design. This is the design it had when I bought it.

    Thanks for the tips.

Can someone please tell me if they see any relevant ads on the site?
    Because I can't see any...

If not, how can I get relevant ads without bloating the site with text?

    www.qroxy.com

EDIT: Just added some text at the bottom of the page, hope it's going to help.

If that site was making that much a day I wouldn't have changed a thing. I would put the site exactly the way it was and wait for it to get to the 2 - 3 dollars. Once you have hit that, then you can make design changes little by little. You don't want to reinvent the wheel. The only other thing I can think of is that the person had someone click for him. That is a big possibility. Why would you sell a site that's making that much of a profit. It doesn't make sense. Good Luck.

Proxy sites consume a lot of bandwidth and CPU.

The question remains, how do I get targeted ads without bloating this site with text?
I only see some "Ebay franchise" ads on the top right now, while other proxy sites get proxy ads from AdSense. These other proxy sites usually don't have a lot of text. Eg. http://www.h0x.org/

Well, thats it. I'm switching to AdBrite or something because I still can't get any relevant ads. Changed google_page_url to the absolute url of my page, since I have url forwarding, but still no difference.

Also tried to email AdSense support two times with no response.

I can see why this type of site would have a hard time with relevant ads. If you do a normal Google search on "free proxy" there are zero Adsense ads shown on the right side of the results page. Google has no inventory of ads for that keyword -- which is why your ads are not relevant.

How about a second page, "What's a Proxy Site?", with a link on the home page. The new page would not use the word "proxy" so much as other keywords. The keyword selection would depend on the kind of ads you would want to appear -- the kind of ads that your visitors are most likely to click on.

http://www.whiteproxy.info/ is one of all proxy pages out there that gets relevant ads. There are many more.

Will consider some kind of about page, thanks.
