adsense in signatures

Don't know if it is against TOS, but I if it is not, I would love to know how he did it.

 

Interesting indeed. I never thought about that.. It have to be that they allow Iframe in their sigs at that site. I can't imagine that it is allowed in the TOS.

 

Thats not in the signature its under the first post and this forum does it too. its not that hard to do with phpbb/vbulletin. The only reason forum owners dont put adsense in everyones signatures is because you are allowed only up to 3 units up max.

anyway I don't see how he's going to do when posting more than 3 message (since adsense will show up to 3 times)

 

If you add it more then 3 times, adsense will only display 3 times. The 4th unit will not be displayed.

 

So pure basic you can put 10 adsense with out breaking the TOS but it will only show 3

 

I don't think so Yellowberry. I am pretty sure I read in the ad setup instructions specifically that you should only place up to 3 units on 1 page.

 

Well both are right. You can only have 3 units per page, but they won't show more than 3 either.

I would not create content that intentionally shows more than 3 ads, if it were up to me.

As for this particular placement, no problems with it, it doesn't look like the google javascript code is modified at all so it is fine. The only issue would be the number of displays per page, and technically more than 3 is a violation of the TOS.

 

I have a forum that only displays one adsense ad.
As Admin, It would be great if I could have adsense in my signature.
How is it done?

 

Pretty sure all they did was allowed javascript in sig boxes. Theirs hacks for phpbb to do that, along with allowing flash sigs etc. Maybe all they did was ticked the box to allow html, which may allow java also I dunno.

Other users have said, both are technically correct. It's not that anybody or me is recommending to add more then 3 add units against TOS, but even if you do, maybe by mistake, it will only display 3.

I know this because, on one of my blogs, I added it under every post, and since the homepage displayed the latest 10 posts, it should have technically displayed 10 taking me against TOS, but google system only displayed 3, and I could then see that the adsense code was there on the homepage 10 times, but triggering the ad display only in 3. And that told me this. Then I corrected it to show the way I wanted.

 

I dont know, But if it is legal then WWWWWoooooooooo.

 

It is legal as long as "Google Ads" is showing or there is no trickery involved.
