Adsense on Match Making Site!

Discussion in 'Placement / Reviews / Examples' started by Rik, Apr 5, 2005.

Anyone ever used Adsense on Match making site?

If so, like to share your experience on it?

And, what you guys think? Can i expect good CTR from a Match Making site? Asking this because most of us know that CTR is lower in forums than content based sites.

What do you mean by match making site? Dating-type site?

Yup, where people just post their Personal profiles.

IMO, it will give lower CTR than forum cause there will be no content .. all the same thing all the time, just new profiles will be added. So, Adsense probably will show mostly same ads all the time.

Well, if you have some unique fields in the profile info, I would assume it would propigate some unique ads... like favorite sports, favorite music and stuff would give you some ads regarding those subjects... worth a shot for sure.

If not, all you will get will be ads for other matchmaking sites.

i wouldn't start planning your retirement on dating clicks.
besides..if your forum is any good ..no one will be clicking off your site

It's a competitive market. You would think that the Adwords bids would be on the high side??

Getting traffic to site in a saturated market like that is the hard part!

If you already have the traffic then I would try to integrate your Adsense with the posts, maybe after the first two or three posts on each page, then at the bottom.

But what do I know I'm just a Peon ;-)

I have a dating site which I recently put adsense ads on, as an experiment. Your theory is correct that CTR is lower. I'm not complaining though because I get a lot of impressions so it all works out.

It is lower on forums because people on forums are more interested in chatting, not buying. Also, the CPC on dating/relationships/social sites is really abysmal. I'm talking .04 cent clicks. 'Tickle My IQ' ads just don't pay. I would try a CPM banner program.
