Google allows adult ads through Adwords; adult sites on the otherhand are not allowed to use Adsense. Big difference.

No google never allow adult ads.
Infact google had no rights to display adult ads on our clean sites.
What will happen if some religious site shows adult ads.

I had discovered an adult ad (like, really) on my website a while ago. Checked it out and it was definitely an adult paysite. Wonder how it got through...

I think Google is allowing some softcore porn ads. I noticed one in my site too.
Hope they are well paying ads :p

Wrong, Google have always allowed adult ads, both in search and the content network, anything goes as long as it's legal.

Though as the poster above said, an adult site cannot join AdWords

Site owners are able to block specific ads that they feel are unsitable to their site if they find them being displayed.

Its weird that there is an "adult" add and an add about feeding children right next to it. its kinda funny, Oximoron.

About the Lesbian ad mentioned above -

Uh, just because it mentions lesbians doesn't mean it's porn. It looks like it's for a support website for lesbians. It's no more porn than a gay voters' rights website would be.
