Advertisers and you?

Is it possible to have a website that is owned by you as a individual and not as an company to accept paid ads from advertisers? In the form of a text link or banner?

Would a company be interested if the website is interesting enough of course to implement direct advertising on your site and not through PPC programs if you don't run the website under a business form?

Does this happen frequently? Or are companies reluctant to buy advertising space from websites that are not runned under a businessform such as a Inc, or Ltd?

I would be very much interested in your experiences or what you know from other peoples experiences.

I'm pretty sure a large chunk of advertising space is sold by individuals who aren't any serious business entity.

Text links are often sold independent of PPC programs, especially for SERPs/PR purposes, where the advertiser doesn't care too much about the direct natural traffic, but the SE advantage instead. I don't know how frequently it happens, but I do remember a time when PPC/Advertising networks didn't exist or weren't very popular.

After some browsing and keeping the ad thing in the back of my mind regarding advertisers and non-business entities i noticed as you say a fair share of the ones i encountered had their domain registered under a personal name. So i guess this wouldn't have to be a problem for most of the advertisers.

You see, there are a lot of successful website are personal website. Because only your own website, you will put in the effort to promote. if it is a company website, you will not have any interest of promote it.
