advice on a Wiki

I was looking to build a directory of sorts whereby people just come in and add their own information by way of a wiki. My knowledge of wikis is limited. Can members here recommend a robust Wiki software? I would also prefer one that allows for domain mapping. Some of the services that I've seen forces you to piggy back on their wiki domain but I prefer a branded version.

i honestly don't mind paying for a software so open source isn't a big deal to me, especially if it's too complicated to learn.

I really don't have too much experience with commercial wiki software, but i'm sure someone here can chime in and offer some sound advice. Good luck :)
