    Looking for another opinion:

I did a service for someone, wasn't planning to but they needed a job done so I took the time to do it right away for them.

The price was established before I accepted the work.

I completed the work as soon as possible, contacted the person to show them what I had done.

They were happy and had a few small change requests - so I did them right then.

Payment was to be made in 1 hour.

I (in good faith) said "OK no problem, here are your files, send payment in an hour. Nice working with you."

    Hour Past ....

The payment was pushed back until the evening.

I said OK no problem I can wait.

    Morning came .....

    No payment.

I asked why has there been no payment, is everything OK?

Response: I forgot to send it because my friends and I were drinking.

Payment was then assured to be sent this evening.

Evening has come and past and it is nearing midnight where the person is located.

I send a pm and *poof* the person is gone offline. (After being online all day)

Should I consider myself out the payment and move on?

No. I have had similar instances happen in the past, but ultimaely always got things resolved amicably. For whatever reason they are putting you off, just be polite and firm. You did them a huge favor sending them the files before getting payment.

I would not just write it off, depending on the value of the deal versus your time. I would recommend you don't obsess or overly focus on it. Move forward, but just keep pursuing it to get payment.
