As OF Now It is No Aero In the New in Windows 8 RTM.
Why aren’t they keeping aero(No Aero) - because its bad for battery life on tablets. I’m with you on this as Aero was beautiful. They want to sell more Tablets (which will use this OS) and Phones….and Tablets have enough trouble lasting long enough on batteries without trying to GPU render your whole desktop all the time. The solution is to take us back to a Windows 3.1 like graphic experience and windows that don’t use resources like Aero and here we are. Would Microsoft be grafting a phone / tablet UI to the start screen of Windows with no way of turning it off (something they normally did with UI changes in Windows before) if they weren’t trying to force users to become comfortable with it so they can sell more Phones and Tablets (the two growing markets they are failing in…while the PC market is steady state)? Of course they wouldn’t, as it makes no sense whatsoever. This is all about leveraging their monopoly marketshare in the PC marketplace to ensure greater success in selling Metro UI Tablets and Metro UI Phones. JMHO…

Based on the fact that most games use transparency, and running a game on my phone literally sucks my battery dry in a couple of hours, I’d wager they aren’t though.

So What Do You Think Aero Or No Aero?
