We thought our bot had stopped making sense too. Then we realized it was one of the admins who'd been on a marathon with the bot trying to outdebate him...

I thought so. It caused performance issues on my forum too. Minor, but issues none-the-less.

The users thought it was dumb too. It was entertaining for about a week...then it just became annoying.

That is why I banished it to its own forum. I don't think it works well answering in the "forum at large". I will most likely leave it as the members have the choice whether to interact or not.

Has anyone found it slowly learned and got better or is it - What you see is what you get?

I'd think it would be perfect for spammers and dumb posters. Just move their posts into the forum with the bot and have them argue it out.

It was supposed to get smarter. A couple of the admins on that forum were trying to train it and they thought it was learning... a bit. Frankly, I'm not sure I saw any real evidence of it. It was still annoying when we killed it.

But yes, one option is to confine it to a single forum called "Members with no life and way too much time to kill. Obsessive-compulsives enter at your own risk."

No. It wasn't a bot that did AC in. It was humans. More or less.

I used to have one on one of my forums. It was hilarious, people had no clue. They thought it was some half-witted mad poster, lol.

There are currently several Conspiracy Theories concerning what happened to AC.

Personally, I think various reptiles and amphibians that were enraged by humans polluting the environment attacked him. I know it’s the plot of a cheesy B movie, but I think it probably happened to AC. http://imdb.com/title/tt0068615/
