    It started about 6 days ago, every time you click on a page, category, post, anything, it comes up with a 404 error.

    I didn't do anything, it happens on every theme.

    Please help.

    Mod rewrite isnt enabled on your server or probably .htacess doesnt have write permission

    Go to your WP dash>settings>permalinks and make sure you have the .htaccess code shown there in your .htaccess folder in your blog's root folder. If it still doesn't work then contact your host because mod_rewrite probably isn't enabled like Bohra said. If the latter is the case, you can change back to the default permalink structure temporarily because that should still work.

    Thank you, I went into Permalinks and didn't change anything, I just clicked 'Update' it must have resaved .htaccess or something.

    The problem arised due to the disappearance of .htaccess at root which having permalink settings.
