    Ad placement in forums is difficult at the best of times, but as my revenue has started to fall due to smartpricing, i've decided to move the ads about a bit and experiment. I now basically only display ads on threads, and i'm displaying 10 posts per page, with ads after the 1st, 5th and last posts. I do this using the well known extremestyles code. Obviously, if threads don't get to the 4th reply, then only the first ad gets shown, and so on.

    As my site is very regionalised, i'm going to reserve the prime spot on my index page for some local community advertising (not contextual of course to keep Google happy).

    I don't find the placement here aggresive enough. DP gets a lot of site-targeted ads, but oddly the CPM I'm seeing on the revenue share is very low.
